It is important to know and do the will of the Almighty. Our scripture passage today is from First Samuel. In this book of the Bible. Hannah prayed for a son and dedicated him to the Lord. God granted her prayer and Samuel was born. Have you noticed that God blesses us with things that we are willing to dedicate to Him? So…when you pray, ask as Hannah did with passion, with faith, and with the determination to dedicate all to the Lord.
Samuel grew up to be a great judge and prophet, but the people demanded a king to be like the surrounding nations. God was against this, but granted Israel’s desires, and King Saul turned out to be a big disappointment. Notice that the things and situations that we dedicate to the Lord turn out for good, but the things we want for ourselves never satisfy!
The Lord sends poverty and wealth. He humbles, and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. He seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.
