For 66 days I’ll be sending you one or two verses that I consider the “theme verses” from each of the 66 books of the Bible, beginning with the book of Genesis and ending with Revelation. In the passage for today from Genesis, God communicates with Abraham establishing His covenant (a solemn promise) with Israel. This will become the basis for the entire history of the Bible, leading up to Jesus’ coming as the Savior of the world. Read below and thank God for His faithfulness in keeping his promises to Abraham, to Israel, and to YOU!
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:1-3)
