Fear in the Bible is not necessarily the same as the fear of heights, or the dread you feel when you see a blue light in your rear-view mirror! To fear God is to hold Him in reverence and awe. This type of fear is where all true wisdom begins. Remember, wisdom is not intelligence, but instead is an outlook on life in which you make decisions, not from your perspective, but from the Lord’s. As you read this verse, pray that you can see the world the way God sees it, and love people in the world the way God loves them!
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
