TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Our scripture reading for today is from the second letter of Paul to a young pastor, Timothy. He wrote his letter from prison, knowing that he was near the end of his life. Paul had run the race, fought a good fight, and finished the course. He knew that there was laid up for him a crown of righteousness available to all who long for the Lord’s appearing. In his letter he expresses the mutual longing of both men to see one another. Even though they both loved Jesus, they knew the value of friendship with fellow believers in Christ.
II Timothy 1:4
Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.
