Bible Reading Plan | November 25, 2021

What a life Moses lived! Born under a death sentence as a Hebrew, he ended up being adopted into Pharaoh’s household. Chased from Egypt under a cloud of shame and sin, he spent years as a shepherd in a desert land. But God had other plans for Moses and He appeared to him in a burning bush to call him as an instrument to proclaim freedom for the enslaved Hebrew people. Thus, began an adventure of miracles, plagues, military victories, miraculous provision, punishments for sin, and ultimately deliverance. Just before the Hebrews entered the Promised Land, God told Moses he would die, but would be allowed to look over into the land of Canaan. Moses was an imperfect man who was used in a great way. As you read today, remember God uses imperfect people like you and me also, so be willing to think great thoughts of God, and to attempt great things for God!

Deuteronomy 34:5-8

5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. 6 He buried him[a] in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. 8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.
