TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Have you ever had to make a decision when you did not have all the information? The answer to this question is a resounding yes, because every decision we make is made without perfect knowledge. This is why it is important to be a friend of God. The Lord has perfect knowledge, so if we follow His will we can walk confidently with Him, knowing that He will guide our steps even when we don’t know where to go. Our scripture reading for today is about Abram, who was known as “a friend of God.” The Lord calls him to leave his home country. Even though God does not tell Abram where He is leading him, Abram goes in faith, knowing God is in control.
1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:1-3)
