Dr. Toby Frost
Dr. Elton Taylor “Toby” Frost is pastor of South Main Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky and grew up in Europe and the southern region of the United States. He became a Christian at the age of ten in revival services at Ozark Baptist Church near Fort Rucker, Alabama where his father was stationed.
He was formerly Senior Director of Strategic Evangelism at the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, and is the author of over fifty manuals, books, tracts, and journal articles with over 10 million published in seven languages.
Frost received his bachelor’s degree in education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and his master’s degree in biblical languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He has an earned a doctorate degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Frost has served numerous churches in various pastoral and staff capacities. Dr. Frost is also active in the business world, having served as Chief Operations Officer of a financial advisement/securities company, and as a Project Coordinator for a global engineering firm. He is married to Susan Roddey Frost who leads evangelism, outreach, and women’s ministries at South Main. She is a published author, and also has extensive experience in the business world.
The Frosts have three children. Their daughter Taylor works in the fashion industry in Los Angeles, CA. Their second daughter Perry, lives in Atlanta, GA and is a professional actor on stage and screen. Their third child, a son named Roddey, is an electrical engineer with Eaton Corporation and is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Frost’s hobbies include tennis, writing, reading, music, and memorizing scripture.
