You can join our mission efforts through faithful praying. Whether you go on a mission trip or stay at home, prayer is a great way to obey God and support our church mission strategy.

How Can I Pray?

30 Day UPG Prayer Guide - Use our 30 Day Unreached People Group Prayer Guide (published monthly) as a daily way to pray for our African mission partners and locations. You can view this prayer resource here.

Small Groups & People Groups Posters - Pray each week with your Sunday School Small Group using the published “People Groups and Small Groups” prayer poster placed in your classroom. Each month will feature one of our missionary partners.

Pray24 Team – Join this team of faithful individuals as they pray for any emergency needs which may arise on the field from our mission partners. Prayer requests will come in the form of a text message. To sign-up for this resource, text keyword: Pray24 to 864-392-9815.

You can make an eternal difference in the lives of those who have little or no presence of the Gospel by giving financially. Your gifts will be used by our South Main Baptist Mission Team to provide support to our mission partners across the globe, including financial assistance to SMBC students or members who travel to the mission field, projects to support our mission strategy, and more.

How Can I Give?

South Main World Missions Offering - Using your giving envelope, you may include any amount of money you choose. Gifts can be weekly, monthly or one-time. You may also give online by going to www.southmain.church/give. Look for the FUND drop down box which reads, “World Missions”. Enter any

amount.

Give to our Monthly Mission Projects - Each month our church rallies together to support one project. Projects may include Ukraine Evangelism Food Bags, Hunger Projects, Migrant Worker Packets, Diapers for Refugees and more. The themes are published monthly and you can give to the specific project by using our online giving feature.

Why Missions?

We believe that missions is not what we do, but who we are and why we exist. Matthew 28:19 tells us to “…go make disciples of all nations…” and Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Today, our mission assignment is our neighborhoods, city (Greenwood), state (South Carolina), nation and world!

How Do I Get Started?

1. Look through this page at available opportunities and needs.

2. Pray and seek the guidance and leadership of God as you review the opportunities.

3. Complete an online application, references, and background check.

4. Set up a time to meet with Andy for any additional questions.

5. When approved, you will be invited to attend the team meetings which will include things like preparation, training, commissioning, and other information.

An Applicant Should Be

1. A mature Christian and attending our church.

2. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally healthy in order to meet the requirements of the trip.

3. Committed to seeking and raising support (whether prayer and/or financial).

4. Flexible and willing to serve others with a humble spirit.

5. At least 18 years of age for international trips.

6. Able to participate in group training and other meetings with fellow team members prior to departing.

Greenwood United Ministries - Assists the local community in free medical care, rental assistance,

and emergency funding.

Pathway House - Assists our local community in addressing homeless needs navigating a pathway to physical, financial, and social stability while sharing with them the love of God.

Lakelands Baptist Association - We partner alongside 44 other SBC churches in Greenwood, Abbeville and Edgefield County to advance the cause of Christ through prayer, evangelism, funding and other projects.

Lander Baptist Collegiate Ministry - Our passion for college students to hear the Gospel is best supported through our work with the Lander BCM Ministry, Director: Scott Smith. We partner in prayer, finances, and other

support.

Disaster Relief - South Carolina Baptists bring healing and hope during local, state, and national disasters.

South Carolina Baptist Convention - It is our joy to partner with 2,000 other Southern Baptist Churches across the state of South Carolina in financial funding and various projects to ensure that every life is saturated and transformed by the hope of the Gospel.
