Bible Reading Plan | April 25, 2023

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

As you know, for 66 days, we are reading only one or two verses from each of the 66 books of God’s Word. This third day of our Scripture reading plan features the verse above from the third book of the Bible – namely Leviticus.

This verse embodies the theme of this entire book. In Leviticus, God gives Israel instructions to worship Him, and sets a standard of holiness so high that neither they, nor we, have any hope of achieving it.

As you read this verse, be thankful that Christ has come to make us holy, not through works of righteousness that we have done, but through his blood in paying for our sin. Through Jesus we can truly worship the Lord in spirit and truth.

“You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.” (Leviticus 20:26).
