TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
As a great king, Solomon had the power to get everything he ever wanted. He searched for meaning and happiness in wealth, wisdom, philosophy, food, wine, building projects, honor, material possessions, music, health, art, sex, power, and popularity. In each and every case, though, his quest for fulfillment resulted in emptiness and futility. Our verse for today is Solomon’s final conclusion: Without God, nothing matters! So, as you read our verse for today, give awe and reverence to the Lord and follow His word, because true fulfillment only comes in relationship with your Creator!
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
