Everyone needs a Sabbath! The Sabbath is a day when we lay earthly things aside to focus upon rest, prayer, rejuvenation, and the worship of our Lord. To keep a Sabbath is not a suggestion in Scripture. It is one of the “big ten” commandments! When we keep one day of the week reserved for rest and worship we honor God, we rest or bodies, and we restore our minds. So, as you read today, determine that you will keep a Sabbath unto the Lord each and every week.
(Exodus 16) 29 Bear in mind that the Lord has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. (Exodus 16:29)
