TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Fain & Webster once wrote a song entitled, “Love is a many splendored thing.” And in the Bible we see that it certainly is! Scripture puts love as “front and center” in the list of all the virtues. Paul said that, of faith, hope, and love, “The greatest of these is love.” Jesus said the greatest of the commandments was to “Love the Lord” and “Love your Neighbor.” Indeed, the Bible even states in 1 John 4:8 that, “God is love.” And in our verse for today we are reminded that God’s love empowers us to love as well.
I John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.
