TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Do not be lackadaisical about sin. Repentance requires a sharp break with evil. If we leave any room in our lives, sin will cycle back around and infect us like a dangerous virus. We see this in the life of Baasha. He overthrew the house of Nadab and the evil king Jeroboam, but then started committing the same evil deeds as his successors. As you read today be aware that sin is always crouching at the door. But through Jesus you can once and for all break the shackles of sin. So accept His forgiveness and transforming power and you will be saved.

(1 Kings 15) 33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah became king of all Israel in Tirzah, and he reigned twenty-four years. 34 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the ways of Jeroboam and committing the same sin Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit.
