📖 READ IT

' The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake! The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples. Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is he! The King in his might loves justice. You have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt the Lord our God;worship at his footstool! Holy is he! Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called upon his name. They called to the Lord, and he answered them. In the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them; they kept his testimonies and the statute that he gave them. O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings. Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy!' - Psalm 99:1-9 ESV

🔍 DISCOVER IT

Psalm 99 is one of the "enthronement psalms," celebrating the reign of God as King.

The chapter emphasizes three major themes:

  1. God's Sovereign Rule — He reigns over all nations and peoples.

  2. God's Holiness — The phrase "He is holy" is repeated throughout the psalm.

  3. God's Justice & Mercy — God judges righteously, yet He responds to those who call

    on Him.

The central message is that because God is the holy King who rules with justice and mercy,

His people should worship Him with reverence, obedience, and trust.

💬 ASK IT

  1. Do I truly live as though God is King over every area of my life?

  2. Do I approach God casually or with reverence?

  3. What habits or attitudes in my life are inconsistent with God's holiness?

  4. Is there any unconfessed sin I need to bring before God?

🧭 LIVE IT

  • Practice Reverent Worship - Whether you're in church or having a private time of devotion, focus on God's character rather than only your needs.

  • Pursue Integrity - Tell the truth, keep commitments, treat people fairly, and refuse dishonest shortcuts.

  • Receive Correction Humbly - When God exposes sin through Scripture, conviction, or wise counsel, repent quickly, learn from the correction, and trust that His discipline is motivated by love.

  • Reflect God's Holiness - Each day, ask yourself, "Does my speech, attitude, and conduct reflect the God I worship?" Holiness is not perfection but a growing commitment to live in a way that honors God.

🙏 PRAY IT

Dear God, You are a holy King who reigns with justice, hears the prayers of Your people,

forgives sin, and deserves wholehearted worship. May my response be to trust You, honor

Your holiness, pursue justice, pray faithfully, accept correction, and live in a way that

reflects Your character. I need Your help to accomplish this, so may I stay connected to You, Lord. In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, amen.
