Greetings!
REACH+RENEW is NOT just another fundraiser. It is however an opportunity for you to PRAY and go with us on a journey of adventure with God. While our purpose is to provide needed improvements in order to make our building a more effective partner in ministry and outreach, it’s also a journey to learn more about ourselves, and especially to learn more about the faithfulness of God. We are calling it the REACH+RENEW Capital Stewardship Program. Those two important words—REACH and RENEW—illustrate important aspects about our buildings and ourselves.
REACH
Our buildings (and our lives) are dedicated toward the purpose of reaching our community and world with the transformational message of Jesus Christ. Dozens of ministries emanate from our facilities, along with countless life-change stories—many of which you will hear over the next few weeks.
RENEW
As we renew, refresh, and revive our church campus, we want it to be accompanied with our lives being renewed, refreshed, and revived. What a tragedy if we end up with new life for our buildings and still have hard, rusty lives spiritually!
The following contains more news about our REACH+RENEW effort, along with introducing our Program Directors and Team Leaders. Please pray about serving on one of these teams if called upon, and ask God to bless you as we embark on this spiritual journey together!
Dr. Toby Frost Pastor, South Main
CALL TO PRAYER
Just Imagine
A renewed church campus to reach our community and world
A renovated music suite, rejuvenated pipe organ, expanded worship platform
State-of-the-art technology to be more effective in sharing Christ
Just Imagine
Our Family Life Center and South Main Sports building made safer and more accessible for children and families
Transformed student spaces, including a new indoor/outdoor youth pavilion
Just Imagine
Reimagined campus and outdoor spaces
New parking enhanced with trees and islands
Renovated athletic fields and attractive fencing
A new children’s playground
An outdoor basketball/pickleball court
A new field-house
Can all this happen?
Yes! With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). The Lord moves as His people pray. Please consider this your CALL TO PRAYER as we seek God’s guidance—renewing not only our buildings, but our lives as well!
R+R | NOT EQUAL GIFTS, BUT EQUAL SACRIFICE
The goal is not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. Some can give a lot; others a little. But we all want to dig deep for the Lord. The REACH+RENEW Capital Stewardship Program will only last a few weeks, but it will echo into eternity. With renewed buildings and renewed lives, your giving will echo into eternity.
R+R | INTRODUCTION OF DIRECTORS
Our R+R Capital Stewardship Program Directors are two couples whom God has used over the years to contribute to South Main’s mission and ministry identity. Please pray for them as they take on the task of organizing, leading, and inspiring our efforts to REACH+RENEW our buildings, our community, our world, and our lives.

Dr. Bud & Angela Darby
Dr. Darby has served as a mentor to young people at South Main, as well as an inspiration to our oldest members. He is a long-time doctor of ophthalmology in Greenwood and a gifted “process thinker,” responsible for the last two major rewrites of our church Constitution and Bylaws. Angela Darby, a registered nurse, currently serves as a medical volunteer at Crossroads Pregnancy Center. She has a heart for people and a loving and generous spirit.

Brad & Sallie Russ
Brad and Sallie are leaders in both our church and our community. Brad was the long-time owner and president of Gary Russ Chevrolet in Greenwood, where he distinguished himself through service, fairness, and honesty. Sallie has a love for people of all ages and currently serves on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship. And… we all have Brad and Sallie to thank for giving us our beloved Student Minister, Bradford!
