THE POWER OF GOD'S LOVE

Read it

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Discover It

God's love for us is even greater than the most heartfelt love we can experience on earth. In Romans 8:38-39 we are reassured that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. This is a powerful reminder of God's unwavering and eternal love for each of us. God's love is unconditional. It doesn't depend on our actions, our successes, or our failures. His love is constant and never changes. God's love is everywhere. No matter where we are or what situation we find ourselves in, His love is with us. Whether we're at the highest mountain or the deepest valley, God's love reaches us. God's love conquers all. Paul lists things like death, life, angels, demons, the present, the future, and any powers to show that nothing is too powerful to come between us and God's love.

Ask It

1. When was there a moment in your life when you felt truly loved? It could be a simple gesture, a kind word, or a special memory. Share this memory with others.

2. How do you feel knowing that God's love for you is unconditional and eternal?

3. Can you think of a time when you felt separated from God's love? How does our scripture passage for today reassure you in those moments?

4. How can we as a family, or you as an individual, show God's love to each other and to those around us?

Live It

1. Look for times to read God’s word individually or together with others and open you heart and mind to understand the depths of God’s love.

2. Pray for God to help you to grow closer to Him as well as to family, friends, and even strangers as you reflect upon His promises.

3. Create a "Love Jar” for you and each member of your family. Each family member writes down one way they have felt God's love recently and puts it in the jar. Throughout the week, pull out a slip each day to remind yourself of God's love and share these experiences with others.

Pray It

Lord, we are grateful for Your unending love. Help us to remember that nothing can separate us from You. Strengthen our faith and our love for one another. Guide us to be examples of Your love in the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.
